A1+ TV COMPANY KEEPS ON STRUGGLING FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH
Support A1+!On Monday, a march supporting freedom of speech and A1+ TV Company’s right for broadcasting was held in Yerevan. The march ended with a rally outside Charles Aznavour Square.
The action participants – media outlets’ representatives and ordinary people – condemned recent violence against journalists.
Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper’s editor-in-chief Nicol Pashinyan noted in his speech that those organised and perpetrated violence against journalists haven’t been prosecuted. As an example of ongoing impunity, he singled out Armenian Deputy Police Chief Hovhannes Varyan, a sinister persecutor, who is still in office.
He underscored the importance of struggle for freedom of speech and wish A1+ to resume broadcasting in near future.
