DID TOROSYAN MUDDLE UP PACE?

Politics

Tigran Torosyan could muddle up everyone in PACE. Shavarsh Kocharyan’s suggestion to include the issue over the Constitutional Court decision in the report was refused.

Opposition MP offered to replace the second and the third sentences of the first plank of the report by the following words:

”The organization of the referendum of confidence was in conformity with the decision of the Armenian Constitutional Court by 16 April 2003. The Authorities reject the organization of a referendum and qualify the opposition demands and protests as an attempt to seize power by force.''

PACE accepted Tigran Torosyan’s “correction”, under which Constitutional Court decided to conduct a Trust Referendum and then clarified its proposal.

Shavarsh Kocharyan didn’t manage to remove the plank over the legality of the elections, which said: “Despite the election frauds and their volumes, they didn’t have an essential influence on the final results of the elections”.
