POLICEMEN CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAY BY TRUNCHEONS

Politics

Any citizen passing Yerevan streets today could think – who for the jubilee celebrations were held in Opera and Ballet Theatre while numerous policemen by truncheons were standing on almost all the streets of Center Commune.

It was officially stated that a festive measure on Police Day was to take place in Opera and Ballet Theatre building. But it was strange to see that all the roads to Freedom Square were being protected from the citizens.

Policemen stood a live wall to hamper everyone to enter Freedom Square. Some others were celebrating their holiday near Matenadaran territory controlling the Opposition meeting. There were policemen standing in Baghramyan Avenue, too, waiting a possible march of protestors to Parliament building or President’s residence.
