Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Vardan Oskanyan has today made a statement over the 10th anniversary of the Rwanda Genocide.

”A decade ago Rwanda Genocide, one of the most monstrous crimes against mankind was committed. Unfortunately, it happened the time the international public seemed to possess all the methods and tools to prevent it.

What happened in Rwanda evidences of silence and indifference. The unpunished act gives rise to new crimes.

The 20th century started and ended in Genocides. We are now in the 3rd millennium and it is necessary to leave the heavy burden to the previous one. So the unbiased appraisal for the tragic events in the past based upon the wish to keep the mankind future away from hurt and not upon revenge is the best way to prevent the Evil”.
