HEIKKI TALVITIE AND VARDAN OSKANYAN HOLD JOINT NEWS CONFERENCE

On Friday, the EU Special Envoy for South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie, speaking at his joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan in Yerevan, said meeting of Azeri and Armenian foreign ministers scheduled for March 28, 29 in Prague, Czech Republic is postponed.

In his words, the meeting, not the process is suspended. In his opinion, Karabakh conflict must be solved only within OSCE Minsk Group.

Although the process of the conflict settlement formally remained the same, the Minsk Group’s co-chairs are carrying hard work “searching ways and means”, he said.

Asked is it possible that Azerbaijan is trying to avoid solution within existing format, Talvitie who came to Armenia’s capital after visiting Baku, answered “no”.

Journalists asked Vardan Oskanyan is it likely the Azerbaijan to put forward Karabakhi problem at the prosecution against Azeri officer murdered Armenian officer in Budapest in a bid to take advantage of it. The minister said if Azeri side makes such a step the all will condemn it.
