At the press conference in Foreign Affairs Ministry the journalists were told that Ambassador Pier Herkole Ago is visiting Armenia for the last time.
His office period expired. It is to remind that the group Mr Ago heads controls the implementation process of the CE-obligations of Armenia.
Ago called that process as positive though saying there are some problems regarding the constitutional reforms and the amendments to the Electoral Code.
It may well be that the issue on “Trust Referendum” appears among those commitments. Before it Constitutional Court decision on that will undergo the expertise by the Venice Committee.
”I didn’t expect the society of Armenia to be so split”, Ago said. Opposition intention to boycott Parliament activity was surprising to him.
Ambassador says that he has convinced Opposition not to take that step: ”No constitutional reforms can be carried out without participation of Opposition”.
