AZERBAIJAN DECEIVES NATO
Support A1+!General Melkonyan condemned Azerbaijani authorities’ refusal to provide Azeri visas to Armenian delegates. Actually, there was no need in visas, as visa regime isn’t set among CIS member countries. Besides, the invitation came from NATO and Azerbaijan was due to display readiness to ensure Armenian officers security, he said.
Melkonyan said the Azeri side had told NATO it is ready to allow two Armenian officers to arrive in Azerbaijan. After that Armenian delegation left for Turkey in order to fly to Baku. Entrance visas were due to be given in “Bina” airport.
The head of Armenian delegation Colonel Murad Isakhanyan said Azeri embassy in Georgia was deliberately slow in considering issues related to Armenians. Obstacles were placed in the way of Armenian delegates to bar them set their feet in Azerbaijan’s territory. Then, they were denied entry in Baku.
And what about the route through Turkey, it was chosen by the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, as transport expenses were borne by International Fund.
