ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO CRACK DOWN ON CORRUPTION

Politics

“Government knows very well how harmful is corruption”, Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan said Friday at presentation of anticorruption program.

Anticorruption strategy has been worked out with World Bank’s assistance. The WB granted about 300,000 USD for that purpose.

National Assembly’s Vice Speaker Tigran Torossyan promised on behalf of the parliament to put into reality the program though, as he said, it is very difficult to combat corruption. All officials present at the event expressed their eagerness to struggle against corruption.

In which spheres corruption is mostly flourishing? This question remained unanswered at today’s event. There is nothing surprising in each official’s unwillingness to confess that the area run by him is affected by corruption.
