PARUYR HAYRIKYAN IS UNHAPPY ABOUT COURT'S DECISION
Support A1+!On Monday, Union for National Self-determination lost lawsuit against Yerevan municipality. The UNS leader Paruyr Hayrikyan who appeared before the court as plaintiff said the union had filed a motion asking to authorize the rally due to be held at Republic Square on December 10 but denied permission to stage the event on that place and offered another one instead.
Municipality official Karine Danielyan, in turn, said the municipality had not allowed the rally to be held there, because 16:00 is a rush hour, especially in that part of the city but offered Matenadaran square, where traffic is not so heavy. The decision had been made in accordance with the law, she said.
Hayrikyan is convinced that the municipality has not authorized the rally, because officials couldn’t come to terms with the idea that the union is going to stage rally on Human Rights Day in immediate vicinity to the House of the Government.
