KIM BALAYAN’S VICTORY IS “MINIMAL”

Politics

ARF members say that Kim Balayan, the nominated candidate for CC judge by Coalition will stop his membership in ARF. A Constitutional Court member has no right to be a party representative.

Parliament discussions over the candidacy of the new CC member had become so tensed that some of MPs left Parliament Hall after making speeches. “National Unity” Chair Artashes Geghamyan did so, too.

66 “pros” of Parliament members are necessary in order that a new CC judge might be nominated. 85 out of 108 registered MPs voted at the elections of the new CC member. It is surprising that this election passed without vote fraud since just 85 voting papers were found in the ballot box after opening it.

Exactly 66 had voted for Kim Balayan.

Assuming the obligations of a CC judge, Kim Balayan promised: ”There was some politicized character in some speeches. But believe in me, I now undertake a more responsible commitment to never display negligence and to protect each letter of Constitution”.

Kim Balayan turned to be generous to those having voted against him and promised to protect their interests in due course.
