OPPOSITION KEEPS DEMANDING FOR AUTHORITIES’ CHANGE
Support A1+!”Power in Armenia is seized, and the present regime is responsible for the situation in the country”, Albert Bazeyan, “Republic” Party Chair, announced at the conference before the meeting.
He posed a rhetorical question: ”Have the powers that became authoritative with “Let’s change our life!”, “Let’s build a country of law!” mottoes changed our life or are they going to build a law country? No, we think”.
Bazeyan said instead of being occupied with the social problems, the coalition discussed distribution of posts and fields of activity.
”But they are misled. The control packet of power is in the hands of Robert Kocharyan and Serj Sargssyan”, Bazeyan announced. According to him, those two control justice, national security, defense, customs, legal spheres, and the coalition party-members get power remains at best or the scapegoat role at worst.
Bazeyan referred to the situation in the country. By his word, there is inner tension in Armenia. There is no progress in legal proceedings. The trial lasting for 3 years didn’t find who had killed Armenak Armenakyan or where the arms of the criminals had been hidden.
Albert Bazeyan says by the order of authorities an attempt is made to consider Armen Sargssyan the murder costumer during the trial on Tigran Naghdalyan’s murder by pressing upon the defendants to reject their testimonies.
”The regime keeps treating Mass Media the same way. In particular, “A1+” and “Noyan Tapan” TV Companies are still off air under various reasons. The bill on “Mass Information” is under discussion, which aims to control and restrict the press”.
Aram Sargssyan, the Chair of Armenian Democratic Party, announced that priority N 1 of Opposition is still establishment of lawful authorities.
He forecasted hard times for the present authorities. Regional problems, pressures over Karabakh and conflict of interests of the super states dealing with our region etc are expected. And the authorities that don’t enjoy trust of people won’t be able to resist such pressures.
