NATO IS NOT A CASTLE WITH CLOSED DOORS

Politics

”If Turkey is a NATO’ member since 1952, does it mean that it is allowed to do everything? Must one forget vandalism that country has committed towards its neighbours and to consider it a democratic country?”, the Armenian journalists voiced their dissatisfaction to NATO representatives at the seminar on “NATO and Security Prospects in Armenia”.

It is obvious that the Armenian public can’t tolerate Armenia’s membership to NATO because NATO announces Turkey to be up to NATO standards whereas saying NATO members are obliged to be democratic and free of any problem with neighbours.

In order not to hurt anyone let’s just fix that NATO representative’s words fail to be true to facts since the same NATO representative couldn’t refute both Armenian-Turkish relations and Turkey’ policy towards neighbouring countries and nations, the Kurds in particular.

NATO representatives refused to evaluate the genocide of Turkey to not only the Armenians but also the Greeks. They expected the Armenian journalists to pose questions of other character but almost all of them were over Armenia-Turkey relations.

In any case NATO representatives reminded NATO not to be a castle with closed doors, and membership to it first of all proceeds from the interests of M-countries.
