CE INFORMATION OFFICE OPENING
Support A1+!The CE Information Office is already functioning in Yerevan. The CE-related information is now available for Armenian citizens. Ceremony of the office opening was held today.
The Information Office Director Susan Marukhyan said the office aim is to keep community in touch with the CE activity.
European Convention’s Human Rights Guide containing information about rights and restrictions specified by the Convention has been presented.
For example, the Convention guarantees a right for just legal proceedings on civil and criminal cases, the freedom of speech right, including freedom of press, and a right for organisation of assemblies and demonstrations.
Regardless the Convention and despite three-year-long CE membership, Armenia plunged into lawlessness. There are many facts of the Convention violation in the republic such as illegal detention of rally participants. It is well-known fact that Armenian authorities have stripped TV companies from a right to broadcast in a clear breach of the Convention.
