OPPOSITION BLOC PUTS END TO HESITATION

Politics

“Justice” bloc said at today’s news conference that it intends to continue struggle for legitimate power in National Assembly. However, the alliance doesn’t rule out boycott as means of struggle. The Justice-backed MPs can boycott some issue discussion, vote or session. It may arise necessity to put their MP mandates down. This kind of steps was found risky though “Republic” party insists that this is decent outcome, the party leader Albert Bazeyan said. “We failed to convince our allies”, he added.

Bazeyan also said he didn’t change his mind to reject mandate as announced earlier. But he was reluctant to refrain from such a step as in this event Aram Sargssyan was expected to follow him and it might be taken as an attempt to split the bloc.

“Justice” bloc finds it worthless to attend coordinating sessions where National Assembly leadership is to be elected and government program discussed.

The alliance members stressed once again their entering in parliament doesn’t mean their recognition of election results. “We didn’t abandon our decision to apply to Constitutional Court demanding to announce the results of the election through party lists invalid. A panel is set up that is now preparing proper papers for motion”, the alliance member Stepan Zakaryan said.

Shawarsh Kocharyan has little optimism about Constitutional Court decision. He said he don’t reckon on success but the bloc has to submit motion to the Constitutional Court as it is necessary action on way to European Court and announced about the “Justice” determination to challenge both presidential and parliamentary results there.

The alliance is willing to cooperate with any parliamentary force ready to adopt its principles.
