MAYOR IS A CANDIDATE
Support A1+!Yerevan Mayor Robert Nazaryan will take part in the parliamentary elections on May 25 by proportional procedure .He is the first in 75-member election list of “Powerful Homeland” Party.
At the press conference in office for “PH” he commented on his motives for participation in the elections. ”The Mayor post once more convinced me that it is necessary to have a team of supporters in the Legislative Power to more effectively work in the Executive one” , he said.
“Experience shows life makes proposing amendments to Legislative sphere. Unfortunately, the problems we raise often remain unsolved, because there are more important interests for a given party or a group, so those problems are pushed into the background” .
He also explained the fact of being inscribed in the election list of “PH”. “I had a chance to work with the leaders of “PH” in the framework of implementation of their projects /Yerevan Vice-Mayor is the Party chairman/ .
Mr Nazaryan hopes Yerevan status will change if “Powerful Homeland” appears in Parliament. “The present one doesn’t give an opportunity to best arrange our works” , he says.
Robert Nazaryan hasn’t decided yet whether he will be occupied with legislative activity if being elected a MP or will relinquish it, continuing to hold the Mayor’ post. He thinks president or Prime Minister is to decide it, but adding he is much more skilled in the Executive sphere.
