OPPOSITION NEEDS MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT
Support A1+!“It is senseless to the opposition to win three, five or even 15 seats in National Assembly. If it turns so, the Parliament will get under control by the republic leadership, “Repuclic” party chair Albert Bazeyan said speaking today at National Press Club. The opposition determination to win parliamentary elections is increasingly growing, he said. In his opinion, victory would enable it to put forward a motion of no confidence in president Kocharyan and challenge polling results.
The party leader says he anticipates Robert Kocharyan to be weaker than his predecessor Levon Ter-Petrossyan after the 1996 elections.
In his words, within 2 or 3 coming days the opposition parties intends to file motion to Constitutional Court demanding to scrutinise election results. If the Court finds the elections legitimate they’ll file the same motion to European Court, Bazeyan says.
