DEMIRCHYAN HELD MULTI-THOUSAND RALLY

100 to 130 thousand people gathered today at Yerevan’s Republic Square to attend the rally convened by the opposition.

There were the persons among the rally participants who were brought from provinces by buses for participation in the meeting with Kocharyan, which started at the same time in another site of the capital.

Representatives of almost all opposition parties spoke at the rally pledging their support to presidential candidate Stepan Demirchyan.

“Republic” party’s leader Albert Bazeyan said in his speech that they intend to struggle against illegalities, violence and crime.

“Erkrapah” voluntary unity pledged its support to Stepan Demirchyan.

Famous Armenian conductor Ohan Duryan, who enjoys world-wide recognition, arrived in Yerevan to express his personal support to Demirchyan though Duryan is not eligible to vote, because he isn’t Armenian citizen any more. Glorious conductor was reluctant to leave the country “thanks” to the republic authorities.
