Support A1+!One more proxy and his deputy were arrested today, Grigor Harutyunyan, the head of the campaigning team of presidential candidate Stepan Demirchyan, said at the press conference held by Demirchyan-led Armenian People Party. He said all those detained in Yerevan’s district of Shengavit were tried and sentenced in the police chief’s room. “They say some verdicts had even been delivered in the cars carrying detainees to solitary confinement facilities”, Harutyunyan said.
“The police arrested the proxies who foiled authorities’ attempts of rigging the vote in the polling stations where they were present”, said the chief of opposition electoral headquarter Vagharshak Harutyunyan. “They did so to prevent these proxies from keeping order at their polling stations”, he said.
17 cases of election irregularities were submitted to the Prosecutor Office, said Grigor Harutyunyan. In his words, the Prosecution accepted only 4 of 17 cases submitted. ”Prosecution, Home Ministry and Kocharyan are stuck together”, he concluded.
