THE STATEMENT SPOKE INSTEAD OF THE AUTHOR

Politics

Candidate for presidency Aram Harutyunyan, National Conciliation Party Chairman, held a press conference. But it turned out he had nothing to say or rather he had phrased his speech into a statement. He read it out for representatives of various Mass Media and went away, leaving their questions unanswered. Hope for us were the statement contents.

The candidate stated “Since I aspired to people to trust with me to govern the country for the coming 5 years, I was obliged to trust in everybody. So I announced that on February 19 any citizen would be my proxy as well. But the election results over me were doubtful and no proxy alarmed about it” .

If concluding from what he said, one can say confidently that Armenian people lost their trust in the eyes of Aram Harutyunyan because he “couldn’t rely on the information by them” , so he can’t say whether the irregularities had impact on election results or not.

‘”Regarding the presidential elections as competition of ideologies and remaining loyal to the principles of “National Conciliation” Party, I announce I won’t back up candidature of Stepan Demirchyan in the second round of elections , the statement says.

The most expected part of the statement follows the above words: “I urge the candidates for the second phase, the powers seconding them and the public to display indulgent and be guided by concern for security and stability of the country” .
