PEOPLE’S PARTY OF ARMENIA STILL SUSTAINS A DEFEAT

On Saturday People’s Party of Armenia sustained a defeat in the head elections of Odzun village. The present village head Melik Ayvazyan as well as the representative of Republican Party and Yezek Aghvanyan, businessman from People’s Party, had nominated themselves for the post of head for the village, having the electorate of 4.000.

Melik Ayvazyan is known to be a criminal in the village . He was arrested on charges of blackmail in the village. The villagers think him to be guilty for cattle disappeared in Odzun.

Yezek Aghvanyan’s supporters say the village head made villagers vote by show of hands . They were even made to declare who they vote for.

One of the voters of 39/57 polling district appeared for the elections, as he himself said, with a passport of a girl he is not acquainted with . The incident was disclosed by Ruzan Khachatryan, head for Press Service of PPA.

Samvel Mnatsakanyan, Chair for Election District Committee is as well the Chair for Social Investment Fund of Alaverdi City. He didn’t hide to second the present village head in the elections.

Proxy Loris Aghvanyan says 2 voters got voting papers, already voted in favour of the present village head from Mr Mnatsakanyan’s Committee .

The ballot-box in this polling district was placed the way so that none of proxies could see how the electorate votes.

It’s not known how elections of N 39/56 polling district lasted. Committee Chair Vahagn Davtyan called “A1+” TV Company to record election process “in a short period, then turn the cameras off and get away” or else Melik Ayvazyan’s son, i.e., the proxy, threatened “A1+” staff “to break their noddles” .
