2003 BUDGET DISCUSSED AT PARLIAMENT
Support A1+!Today 2003 year’ budget discussion began in Parliament. Before Finance Minister Vartan Khachatryan would dwell on budget, PM Andranik Margaryan introduced it briefly. He said budget sums increased in both cost and income parts . He also stated pensions increased by 50 2.jpg. The budget is based on the strategy of poverty reduction program.
The salary for the “most needy” stratum of our public, MPs and judges, will make 700 $ .
Court chairs will be paid about 1300 $ monthly.
Viktor Dallakyan, Chair for Committee of State and Legal Issues, said MPs can’t be paid to 700 $ while pensioners are paid 10 $ ” . He suggested not to increase their salaries, thus saving 700 million drams and to set the sums for augmenting pensions or allocating for the problems of the youth.
Finance Minister said any problem can’t be solved through that money: “If a MP isn’t paid a normal salary, he can’t solve the problems of the mass.” . But the final decision is to be made by Parliament and Viktor Dallakyan will have to persuade MPs to relinquish “the tempting salary” .
