“CONSTITUTIONAL ELITE” IN YEREVAN

Constitutional Court Chair Gagik Harutyunyan stresses the importance of holding the 7-th seminar on Constitutional right in Yerevan.

That meeting from October 4-5 differs from those before by the representatives’ staff. Lyusius Wildhaber, Chair of Human Rights Constitutional Court, Alvares Khil Robes, Commissar of CE Human Rights, Chairs of Slovakia’s, Czechia’s Bulgaria’s, Lithuania’s, Tajikistan’s Courts are in Yerevan .

Armenian Court and Prosecutory Elite headed by Justice Minister, Chair of Appeal Court and Prosecutor General, take part in the seminar. Vahram Atanesyan, Chair of Foreign Relations Commission of Karabagh Parliament and Vladimir Hovsepyan, other Karabaghi representative are taking part in this international measure. The organisers say Stepanakert representatives themselves expressed wish to participate in the seminar. There was no need to inform CE about them and they can take part in discussion .

MP Aghassi Arshakyan, famous for his negative attitude to CE, was present at the seminar . The issue on human rights defence in Constitutional Court will be discussed at the 2 day seminar. Armenia aimed to take a step on that issue and as a result of constitutional changes to increase the number of those having the right to appeal to Constitutional Court . But the initiative was postponed for a year and the theoretical part of the issue is being discussed at present.
