VICTOR DALLAKYAN'S PREDICTIONS

Politics

“The election activism in Armenia is to reach its hottest point in September”, Victor Dallakyan, the head of parliamentary standing commission on state and legal issues told A1+ correspondent. In his opinion, local government bodies and the republic leadership are to face serious problems during the elections.

In Dallakyan’s words, the problems now also exist: it is discord between Republican, Dashnaktsutyun and Orinats Erkir parties as well as Communities Union meeting’s failure.

He also said Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, in case of his success in local government election, could pose a real threat to the President Kocharyan.

Dallakyan is convinced that Kocharyan will stand before two problems in his election campaign: the October 27 terrorist action in the House of the Parliament and Nagorno-Karabakhi conflict. Dallakyan anticipates these two problems will generate a lot of heat in political field, especially after October 10, when the President won’t be able to dismiss the National Assembly.

Victor Dallakyan says he considers as a farce the fact that both Armenian presidents – current and former – were non-partisans.
