GENOCIDE IS A KEY ISSUE FOR ARMENIA TODAY
Support A1+!Upon becoming a subject of international law Armenia, in particular its legislative bodies, didn’t pay any attention to the issue of Genocide though the Genocide caused the Armenians to be scattered all of the globe, Member of Parliament Hmayak Hovhannissyan said in Azdak Press Club today.
Earlier, before his speech in the National Assembly he didn’t imagine how one can speak about national dignity. It’s unclear what system of values is the basis of our nation, he said.
For that very reason Hovhannissyan decided to defend the memory of Genocide victims by law. As far he finds difficulty in saying whom the memory should be defended from in this country. Instead, being in different countries the parliamentarian repeatedly stated that Turkey has no right to be involved in the process of Karabakh or Javakhk problem solution, for example, because it hasn’t recognized Genocide.
Hovhannissyan’s bill has especially diplomatic significance. “Only using effectively this issue we can urge Turkey to establish diplomatic ties with us and begin to talk with us not from position of strength, but as a country inflicting damage to Armenian people and having commitments toward our country.
