VANO SIRADEGHYAN NOT REGISTERED AS A CANDIDATE TO BE ELECTED TO THE PARLIAMENT

Politics

The deadline for registration of candidates to be elected to the parliament expired on 14th of April. 10 out of 13 members of Regional Election Commission of Tavush region took part in today's sitting of the Commission.

The attorneys of Vano Siradeghyan submitted the decree of the first instance court of Nork-Marash community dated 9th of April to the Commission. The decree obliged the Passport and Visa Administration of the MFA to issue a reference proving Vano Siradeghyan to have been a permanent resident of Armenia for the last 5 years.

The statement of the Chief of the above administration was presented as well, proving that the decree is to come into force in 15 days after the release of the decree. And only then the referrence will be given out.

The head of the Commission in Tavush stated that the submitted documents do not contain a reference proving Siradeghyan's permanent residence in Armenia for the recent 5 years and, thus it's entirely senseless to rise the question of his registration as a candidate for vote. 4 out of 10 members of the Commission, namely Union of National Self-Determination, "Hayrenik" ("Motherland"), "Armenian National Movement" and "Shamiram" left the sitting hall in protest.

It's worth to remind that since the year of 2000, the ex- ministre of internal affairs Vano Siradeghyan has been wanted. There is no idea where he is.

He is accused of a number of crimes. He was stripped of his parliament member mandate for disrespectfully missing the last year sessions of the National Assembly.
