Armenia’s Hrant Melkumyan wins Turkey

The Armenian men's chess team had the third victory at the World Chess Olympiad in Batumi. In today’s tournament, our chess team of men has won Turkey’s team. In the 3rd round of the 43rd Olympiads the Armenian team competed with Turkey and won 2.5-1.5. Aronian, Sargsyan and Martirosyan ended in a draw. Hrant Melkumyan was the only to win. Thus, Armenia scored overall 6 points and maintained its place among the leaders. However, it divides 16-17th places with Ukrain. Women’s team of Armenia won the Greeks 0.5-3.5. Elina Danielyan, Anna Sargsyan and Maria Korsova brought points to our team and Lilit Mkrtchani played draw. After this victory our chess players are among the leaders with 6 points. In the total number of points (10) Armenia shares 4-5th places with China.
