Nikol Pashinyan has teleconference with Daron Acemoglu
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Varag Sisseryan, Director of Center for Strategic Initiatives Aleksandr Khachaturyan, Director of Innovation Lab Erik Gyulazyan had a teleconference with world-renowned economist and professor Daron Acemoglu. They discussed the prospects of Armenia's development, possible formats of cooperation. The Prime Minister presented the government's upcoming programs and priorities. The economist emphasized that it was the right time to initiate short-term, medium-term and long-term institutional reforms in political, justice, financial systems and investment environments that need to be concrete actions to record results over a specific period of time. "As a result of the current government's activities, citizens feel their engagement in politics. Many people in Armenia are really excited and really want to be part of politics," said Daron Acemoglu. The economist has expressed readiness to assist the Armenian government in any form of development, democratization and reforms. The interlocutors agreed to continue discussions on the aforementioned issues in the near future.
