Local self-government elections are being held in Georgia on October 21. Mayors of Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Kutaisi, as well as members of the Council of Elders will be elected. As reported by Aliq Media, 22 parties and 5 blocs are participating in the elections. Sever hours after the opening of the poll stations in Akhaltsikhe, Irakli Baramidze, canddate for mayor of the United National Movement Party, was beaten, as reported by MASH. Baramidze said that members of the Georgian Dream Party had beaten him when he had attempted to shoot the Georgian Dream office. Baramidze said that the son of Majoritarian candidate Zuyia Balishvili from the "Georgian Dream" had hit him. The ruling party denied the above-mentioned allegations, condemning the United National Movement Party in provoking.
