Bagrat Asatryan: We have the worst parliament ever (video)
Republican Lernik Alexanyan is saddened to hear people saying bad things about his party which he compares with a light. “If the party comes to power, different species of mosquitoes and microbes come and gather around it," he said. Economist Bagrat Asatryan says the same “light” led Armenia to darkness. “More than one million people were forced to take bribes and sell their votes. I know cases when people were stopped by policemen and district authorities who called in and threatened to blow up their homes if they refused to take bribes,” he said. The former president of the Central Bank does not have any expectations from the government's new program. Nor do I have expectations from the ongoing parliamentary debates because this is the worst parliament in the history of Armenia. Mr Asatryan blames all problems in Armenia on the Republicans. They have brought a program to the parliament which does not offer solutions to any problem. “Why should the death rate exceed the birth rate in 2018-19? Let us take a closer look at it.” The economist added that the number of draftees and university entrants will decrease sharply next year. Who is to answer for this? “I do not understand why you need power. Well I understand you may need it for a year, 5 years, 10 years. So what? What will you do in 5 years?” Republican Lernik Alexanyan does not share the pessimism of the economist. He hopes that Armenia will have 5 percent economic growth.
