Yelk to vote for draft on establishment of anti-corruption body (video)

During the NA session convened by the Government, the NA Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan announced that they reached an agreement with the parliamentary opposition and decided that opposition candidates will also be nominated by consensus for the competition council of anti-corruption body. Nikol Pashinyan, Head of Yelk alliance faction, announced that they aren’t negatively minded towards this draft, “It’s true, it isn’t what we had imagined, but it is a step forward in terms of establishing an anti-corruption system, that’s why we will vote for it.” The NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan noted that Tsarukyan alliance has also agreed with the government and they will also vote for the draft. The draft has been adopted with 87-0 votes and no abstention. The number of the lawmakers, who voted, was higher than the lawmakers present in the hall. The NA Speaker Ara Babloyan clarified, saying that there are lawmakers, who are on business trips, and informed in a written form that they will vote for this draft.
