Taron Margaryan did not inherit his wealth - Zaruhi Postanjyan (video)
Zaruhi Postanjyan, leader of the newly-established Yerkir Tsirani who will challenge Yerevan’s incumbent Mayor Taron Margaryan in the upcoming mayoral elections, today rallied her supporters in the vicinity of Erebuni Museum. “They must not use our public funds, for many years our public funds have served to definite people, we should put an end to this theft,” she said addressing citizens. She stressed that the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) shows that ‘50 percent of our budget is appropriated.’ Speaking about the money and properties declared incumbent Mayor Taron Margaryan, Zaruhi Postanjyan said Margaryan probably increased his assets from the state budget. “A high-ranking official cannot accumulate such wealth, his salary can only satisfy minor problems. Besides, his workload will not allow him to be engaged in entrepreneurial activities,” Zaruhi Postanjyan said. Campaigning for the municipal elections starts on April 21.
