Azat Arshakyan: I hoped Karen Karapetyan would not eneter HHK dentistry (video)
The passing year gave our nation self-confidence, the feeling of a winner, former member of the Supreme Council Azat Arshakyan said on December 28 when summing up the passing year. “We turned from the so-called country of Gikor to a winning and glorious state because during the four-day war in April we were left alone with the enemy. I consider that we won that war although we had a very heavy loss – we lost one hundred young people and eight hundred hectares of land. I guess it was the best piece of land in our homeland,’ he said. Speaking about the reshuffle in the Armenian Government after [Prime Minister] Karen Karapetyan’s appointment, Mr. Arshakyan said at first he thought it was a positive move but now he holds a different opinion. “I was excited… I thought he [Karen Karapetyan] was a new man who is not provincial, because there was provinciality before him, but when they stood in turn to join the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) as if they were going to a dentist to have their teeth extracted, I … The HHK is a dentistry…Whoever goes there, comes out without teeth. I hoped Karen Karapetyan would not enter that very dentistry,” he said. HHK lawmaker Artak Davtyan, who was present at the press conference, said the main event of the year was the change of the defense minister. “I think this was a major, global change as a civilian was appointed to the post. It was an important message to decide Armenia’s future,” he said.
