Republic is under influence of Mediterranean active cyclone
The RA Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 24, 17:00, some roads are difficult to pass in the RA territory. Vardenyats mountain pass and Sotk-Karvachar road are difficult to pass. Black-ice is formed on Aragatsotn marz’s Aparan region, Dilijan turns, Vardenyats mountain pass Vanadzor-Dilijan, Stepanavan-Alaverdi-Odzun, Sotk-Karvachar, Goris-Sisian-"Zanger", Saravan-“Zanger” as well as on the roadways of Shirak Province. According to the information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of cars in case of using tire chains. The RA MES Hydrometeorological service reports On December 25 the republic will be under the influence of Mediterranean active cyclone. Snow is expected in different parts of the republic, especially in Ararat valley, Vayots Dzor and Yerevan. Storm and low visibility are expected in mountainous zones and mountain passes, as well as black ice- on the roads. Air temperature will go up in all the regions by 13-15 degrees at night, and by 6-8 degrees during daytime.
