During the discussion of revenues and expenses stipulated by the draft state budget in the spheres of science, education, culture, sports and youth affairs, opposition lawmaker Aram Manukyan asked Deputy Finance Minister Atom Janjugazyan about the new gas tariffs. “I want to understand whether the gas price will be subsidized from the state budget or not,” said the lawmaker of the Armenian National Congress (HAK). Gagik Minasyan, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, immediately objected saying the question had nothing to do with the topic. Atom Janjugazyan said that he had talked to Aram Manukyan on the issue and there had been some misunderstanding. “I thought I heard you and answered you. I offer you my apologies, I did not mean to say such a thing. I understood what I understood and answered accordingly."
