The advisor believed that Mayor Albert Bazeyan needed his own team in the institution that he headed. He hinted that political figures could replace technocrats dealing with the removal of debris, land use and other issues. Suren Surenyants was later charged with embezzling large sums of money from the public and was sentenced to four years in prison.
