Tigran Mukuchyan reelected as CEC Chairman (video)

Today at the NA Sukias Avetisyan, Chairman of Ad hoc Committee on Counting, presented the results of closed voting on candidacy of the CEC Chairman and members. According to the results, 103 lawmakers took part in the voting. The CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan has been reelected with 96-4 votes; 3 ballots were recognized invalid. During the election of 6 members of the CEC, 21 ballots were recognized invalid. All six members were elected with majority of votes. The reelected CEC Chairman in his speech thanked for trust, which, he says, implies more responsibility, “As the new CEC was established during new EC, there is an imperative to find new solutions for many situations. CEC is open to objective criticism as well as to any cooperation.” Republican lawmakers approached the newly elected CEC members to congratulate them. To remind, Armenian National Congress (HAK) didn’t take part in the voting, though, faction member Hrant Bagratyan participated in the voting, and BHK let the voting free.
