Armenia participated in 2nd World Nomad Games
Armenian athletes have won three medals in the 2nd World Nomad Games that ended in Kyrgyzstan. Hovhannes Hovhannisyan (70 kg w/c) and Karen Martirosyan (80 kg) won silver medals, while Narek Tadevosyan (60 kg) won bronze. Armenia came 20th among the 56 participating countries according to the number of medals. Earlier, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia refused to participate in the games, with Minister Gabriel Ghazaryan announcing that all sportsmen, who would agree to participate in the competitions, would be punished. The National Olympic Committee of Armenia said on its website that it has nothing to do with the athletes participating in the Games.
