Levon Julfalakyan expected one more gold medal from Rio-2016 (video)
“We don’t have concrete facts that in Rio-2016 during the final round of Mihran Harutyunyan, some forces influenced the process of the fight. Though, we agree with the decision of the ANOC, which wants to apply to Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. We are not aiming at returning the gold medal, but so that during the upcoming tournaments the referees treat our team more objectively,” Levon Julfalakyan, Head Coach to Armenian Greco-Roman Wrestling team, told during the press conference. The famous specialist also added that formerly due to the biased refereeing our sportsmen lost dozens of medals, though they have never appealed, as they thought that they weren’t intentional and everything would be corrected during the time. Touching upon the results of Rio-2016, Levon Julfalakyan said that he would be fully satisfied, if his athletes won not a one, but several gold medals, “We all thought that Arsen Julfalakyan could perform well, who must have struggled for the gold medal. But we had a lapse in 75 kg weight category, which was incomprehensible and painful for us. But Arsen Julfalakyan isn’t disappointed with that failure and is not going to leave wrestling. It is true, he is at the age, which isn’t young for this sport, but in case of right work he will be able to win medals in big competitions,” summed up Levon Julfalakyan.
