Minister explains reasons for decline in economic growth
The Ministry of Economy is in areas where the rate of economic growth has slowed and even dropped. Minister Artsvik Minasyan says one of the reasons for the decline is the holiday season. “Many businessmen sent their employees on holidays because they had many products in their stores. They did not increase production volumes, but they have increased export volumes. The decline in production volumes is conditioned by that fact. The second reason was the temporary closure of the Upper Lars highway which created additional obstacles for large-volume sales. Another reason is that some companies have save money to purchase products,” the minister explained. Artsvik Minasyan says it is very important for him to be aware of all fundamental changes which are being implemented to ensure a more stable economic growth in Armenia. “This is much more important for me than today’s discussion of 2-3 percent growth,” he said.
