Lawmakers on Hayk Khanumyan’s case
The case of violence against the NKR NA lawmaker Hayk Khanumyan will be handled only in case of transparent investigation, thinks the RA NA lawmaker Tevan Poghosyan, “The process is already underway; President of Artsakh reacted, the police reacted. There is a new Ombudsman in Artsakh, who displays new approaches, I am very happy about it, if the criminals are really punished, we can consider it to be a step forward towards democracy.” According to Tevan Poghosyan, the authorities themselves must ensure so that the criminals are punished. The NA Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction member Mikayel Melkumyan thinks that clear assessments should be given to the incident, “We shouldn’t say that it is their problem, we, as political figures, should react,” said Melkumyan and added, “Any process in Artsakh shouldn’t distort the external impression existing of that country. Artsakh has been and must be a democratic country.”
