Azerbaijani fans cancel transfer of Armenian footballer
The transfer of Varazdat Haroyan, defender of the Armenian National Football team, didn’t take place due to Azerbaijani fans. The official webpage of Iranian “Tractor Sazi” football club yesterday informed that the team had signed two-year contract with the Armenian footballer. But today the Iranian media outlets have informed that the leadership of the Iranian football club cancelled the contract under the pressure of the Azerbaijani fans of the team. This incident proves that football in Iran is rather politicized.
