In addition to vision problems, Zurabyan has many other problems - says Artsvik Minasyan (video)
I am the number one advocate of the fight against monopoly, Armenian Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan said on May 18. The minister stressed the necessity of the fight against monopolies, which, he said, greatly hinder the natural development of economy. He added that he represents a party (Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun) which considers antitrust policy as the most effective in Armenia. Mr Minasyan also recalled the recent speech of Armenian Prime Minister and said the agency he heads is already taking definite steps and creating mechanisms to provide effective solutions to the problems. With regard to the statement of opposition lawmaker Levon Zurabyan, who said that the fight against monopolies was one of the 12 provisions submitted by the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun to the government and Minasyan knows who the monopolists in Armenia are, the minister said, “I have nothing to say. He [Zurabyan] represents a political force and he has already shown his ineffectiveness. Besides problems with his vission he has many other problems as well. But I do not stand and wait for others to be the first to take a step, I have invited everyone to participate in discussion and find the most effective solutions to the problems. I will move ahead no matter how much they criticize me.” In reply to A1+’s question whether he could name monopolists in the country, the minister said, “Do not worry, you will get the full list with the famous names, but I must have evidence-based list to produce to you.”
