The trial of Gagik Simonyan, a former coach of Ulisses FC which was disbanded this year, is still underway. “Simonyan does not admit the charges against him. My client continues to insist that he did not make an illegal bet. The investigation is in progress,” says lawyer Levon Baghdasaryan. Gagik Simonyan was arrested in December 2015 and was immediately charged under Article 3 of the Armenian Criminal Code. Arrest was chosen as his precautionary measure. Lawyer Levon Baghdasaryan did not appeal the precautionary measure, because when he received the case martial the deadline to file the notice of appeal had already expired.
