Nikol Pashinyan not to participate in 4 + 4 + 4 format meeting (video)
Most of the lawmakers participating in the discussions over the draft Electoral Code, which started in the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on March 30, are merely listeners, opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan said after leaving the hall in the middle of the discussions. “We asked questions about some proposals but the government representative said they had not found a solution yet. “Think about it and if you have a specific solution, we will discuss it,” he said. At this stage, I wanted to know what the working group is doing and which direction it is heading. There are new proposals and it is not correct to express a hasty opinion about them. These proposals should be discussed with corresponding specialists,” said the member of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction. Speaking about the 4+4+4 format of discussions proposed by the HAK, Mr Pashinyan said his party (Civil Contract) is not interested in that format. “But it does not mean that we have a problem with that format,” he added. Pashinyan will not participate in the meeting of the 4+4+4 format supporters because he will travel to Hrazdan to participate in the election campaign of mayoral candidate Sasun Mikaelyan, who is a member of the Civil Contract party.
