Prime Minister didn’t meet with residents: updated
13:55 Alexander Ghazaryan, Head of the Government Department that deals with the acceptance and discussion of citizen requests, met with the former residents of Kond district and assured that their issue is under examination. Prime Minister will hold a consultation with the Ministers on this issue and after the final discussions he will be ready to meet with them. The residents, though, were determined, and they continued insisting that they wanted to meet with Prime Minister and to hear all that from him personally. As a result of final negotiations the residents decided to gather outside the Government building on Tuesday. 13:04 At the moment situation is tense in front of the Government building. The residents of Kond district are going to close the crossroad of Tigran Mets and Amiryan Streets so that at least in that way they will be able to meet Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. Several residents of Kond district tried to cross the street, but after the scuffle with the police officers they returned on the sidewalk. The residents say that they will remain in their place unless they meet with Prime Minister. One of the police officers has entered the government building in order to arrange a meeting for the residents. To remind, 8-10 years ago they were evicted from their flats as the Government had considered the territory an eminent domain and promised compensation.
