During her year-end press conference, Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan, spoke about the activities of Mihran Poghosyan, Head of the Justice Ministry's Service for the Mandatory Execution of Judicial Acts (SMEJA). The minister was asked whether she had followed Mihran Poghosyan activities and at what stage of his tenure he managed to make fortune. “I do not study the biography or family background of anyone – be it the SMEJA head or any other official of the Ministry,” Arpine Hovhannisyan said. The minister says she is drafting an anti-corruption programme and is not interested in business activities of her subordinates. The minister was not offended by Serzh Sargsyan’s words who did not rule out that courts in Armenia do not do their work. “I see the problem which was raised by the head of the country,” Arpine Hovhannisyan said. Asked whether she seen any problems in the agency that she heads, “If the system works, there will be problems,” she said in conclusion.
