Number one tennis player of the world Novak Djokovic has been recognized best athlete of Europe 2015. According to the results of the annual poll of Polish news agency, Serbian tennis player scored 199 points. British race-car driver Lewis Hemilton (139 points) appeared on the 2nd place, Dutch athlete Dafne Schippers is the third. 22 leading agencies of Europe took part in the survey. In general, they mentioned names of 69 athletes. In particular, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo took the 5th place, British boxer Tyson Fury- the 11th place, Russian weightlifter Alexei Lovchev- the 19th place, Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen- the 43rd place. Alas, best athlete of Armenian 2015 Arthur Aleksanyan didn’t receive the attention of European journalists, though he had gained victories both in World championship and Old Continent's championships. Yet Azerbaijani wrestler Haji Aliyev, who had gained a gold medal only in World Championship, received 3 points and was on the 55th place in the list.
