Municipality to repay loan for lighting in 15-18 years (video)
USD 4 million loan and 3 million grant; it is the sum to be spent for implementing the pilot program of modernizing the street lighting system of Yerevan. According to the program, 28 streets of Yerevan will have new, energy-saving lighting system. Thanks to the new system, round-the-clock lighting will be ensured in Yerevan. The Municipality is going to repay the loans at the expense of energy-saving lights. According to preliminary calculations, the loan will be repaid in 15-18 years. About 50 percent of the sum will be spent on the construction of underground tunnels, as a result of which there will be no power lines on utility poles. The municipality cannot use the already existing tunnels of the city as there are technical problems. The final results of the pilot program will be at the begging of 2017. More on video
