Armenia's national debt increased by 385.5 million dollars
Armenian lawmaker Hovhannes Margaryan had addressed a letter to the government asking the executive to provide information on the national debt. In particular, the lawmaker wondered how much the state debt increased in 2014-2015 and how much money was allocated to the business sector. During today’s question-and-answer session with the government, he read out the answer given by the Ministries of Finance and Economy according to which the state debt has increased by 385.5 million dollars in the last 10 years. “It is clear from the reply of the Ministry of Economy which economic entitled received the money. The document indicates that $24 million was allocated for the construction of a technology business park in Gyumri, and another 50 million will be spent to promote trade in 2014-2020. The information should be thoroughly studied. I do not expect a prompt reply. I shall wait for the minister to return to discuss the issue with him,” Mr Margaryan said.
