Levon Aronian to face Azerbaijani team
Armenia’s strongest chess player Levon Aronian (“Sibir”) today will face Azerbaijani “SOCAR”. Four rounds have already been held at European Chess Club Cup ongoing in Macedonia. Russia’s “Sibir” has won all the games and now is sharing the 1st -3rd places with 8 points. “SOCAR” has the same results. The leading chess players of the world, Bulgarian Veselin Topalov, Italian Fabiano Caruana are included in “SOCAR”. Vladimir Kramnik and Alexander Grischuk will face them with white pieces, respectively, and Levon Aronian will face Dutch Anish Giri with black pieces.
